Pensive

I got together last night with a dear friend who I don't get to see very often. She lives far, far away. Anyway, she said something that both flattered and disturbed me: "You know, I've always admired your ability to just be G. No apologies, no embarrassment, to just be who you are." Um... My first thought was, did I do all that much to be embarrassed about?? In retrospect, probably. Second thought was... I was (and am) frequently not ok just being me. So, why does someone so close to me think I was? Am I that good at posturing?
